Castello Creamy Havarti with Beef Bacon on Crostini

8 slices of diagonally cut French bread
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs, such as chives, dill, parsley and rosemary
8 cooked slices beef bacon
60 grams Castello® Creamy Havarti, shaved

Castello Creamy Havarti with Beef Bacon on Crostini


Brush one side of the bread with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and herbs. 

Arrange slices on a baking pan and place under a broiler until the edges of the bread crisp to a golden brown, about 3 minutes. 

Remove the pan from the heat and top each slice of bread with a layer of crumbled beef bacon and shaved Castello Creamy Havarti. Return the pan to the broiler and heat until the cheese melts, about 3 minutes. Remove and immediately sprinkle with remaining chopped herbs. Serve while hot or at room temperature.
