Blue cheese burger with red cabbage

Here is our very own street burger, inspired by the city of New York and using Castello Burger Blue – our supreme blue cheese slices adding that little extra to your cheese burger.
4-6 servings
  • 300g shredded red cabbage
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • Approximately 2 cups (500 mL) cider vinegar
  • 500g minced beef
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 4-6 buns
  • ¼ cup (6 tbsp) Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 2 red pickled grilled peppers
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 4-5 slices Castello Burger Blue

The Day Before:

Slice red cabbage finely and put in a bowl, Dissolve sugar and vinegar together, add to cabbage and let it stand overnight

On the Day:

Season the meat with salt, pepper and paprika and form them into patties. Cut all the vegetables, so they are ready for the burgers. Mix Chili Sauce with the mayo and spread on the buns. Grill the steaks until desired doneness and add the blue cheese slices. Drain the vinegar from the red cabbage. Assemble your burger to your liking.
