Meatloaf Burger with Blue Cheese

Ingredients for 6 servings

1 tbsp 15 mL olive oil

1/2 cup 125 mL carrot, grated

1/2 cup 125 mL onion, grated

1 1/2 lbs 680 g ground beef

3/4 cup 175 mL panko breadcrumbs

6 slices bacon, cooked andcrumbled

2 eggs, lightly beaten

2 tsp 10 mL soy sauce

2 tsp 10 mL Worcestershire sauce

2 cloves garlic, crushed

2 tsp 10 mL ground black pepper

1 tsp 5 mL salt

1 pkg 150 g Castello® Burger Blue Cheese Slices


6 burger buns or rolls

Meatloaf Burger with Blue Cheese


Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC). Add olive oil to a small skillet over medium heat, add carrots and onions; cook and stir until softened, approximately 7 – 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and remaining ingredients; combine thoroughly but lightly. Place in a loaf pan or alternatively shape into a 8” x 4” loaf and place in a baking dish. Cook for approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Remove from oven, cool and refrigerate for 4 – 6 hours or until ready to use. Remove from refrigerator and cut into 1” slices. Brush slices with your favourite barbeque sauce and grill evenly on both sides. Top with Blue Cheese slices and serve on toasted rolls.
