Waffles with spicy Cream Cheese dip

Adding new dimensions to a tried and tested classic – our recipe for Waffles with spicy Cream Cheese dip is the perfect excuse for having waffles breakfast, lunch and dinner! Fried in butter and garnished with a delicate salad of fresh greens, almond-based waffles act as counterbalance to a homemade dip of mild spices.

Heat Cheesy



  • 100 g almond flour
  • 50 g whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs, size m/l
  • 1½ dl milk
  • butter for frying

Cream cheese dip

  • 100 g plain cream cheese
  • 50 g skyr or plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • salt
  • pepper
  • you can also use Castello® Organic Cream Cheese with Garlic or Piquant as dip


  • 75 g baby spinach or kale leaves
  • 4 radishes, chopped in small pieces
  • 1 handful of fresh pea shoots


1. Preheat your iron while you make the waffle batter.

2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, and mix together the wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.

4. Grease the waffle iron with butter, pour batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until they golden brown – the recipe makes 4 waffles.

5. Mix together cream cheese, skyr, chopped chives and the dried spices – taste and season with salt and pepper.

6. Mix together the baby spinach, radishes and pea shoots and serve waffles with cream cheese dip and salad.
