Burger Blue Cheese Burger with Onion Rings

Ingredients

4 portions

INGREDIENTS BURGER:

4 slices sliced blue cheese Cheese Slices
4 burger buns
15¾ oz beef mince
salt and ground pepper
4 green lettuce leaves
2 tomatoes, sliced

INGREDIENTS ONION RINGS:

1 large onion
½ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 egg
½ cups 2% milk
¼ cups plus 2 tbsp dry breadcrumbs
oil for deep-fat frying
½ tsp seasoned salt

Preparation

BURGER:

Form the meat into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.

Heat a grill pan until smoking hot. Fry the patties for about 3 minutes on each side – set them aside to rest.

Split the buns and warm or toast them. Place a slice of Burger Blue Sliced Cheese on the patties and top the buns with lettuce, patties, and tomatoes.

Finish with the top bun and serve with pickles, fries with a sprinkle of thyme and extra mustard sauce.

ONION RINGS:

Cut 1 onion into 1/4-in. slices; separate into rings. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. In another shallow bowl, whisk egg and milk. Place bread crumbs in a third shallow bowl. Coat onion with flour mixture, then dip in egg mixture and coat with bread crumbs.

In an electric skillet or deep fryer, heat oil to 375°. Fry onion rings, a few at a time, for 30 seconds on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with seasoned salt.
