Ham and Blue Toasted Sandwiches

ingredients

  • 2 slices medium cut granary, wholemeal or other bread of you choice
  • Lurpak butter for spreading
  • Quarter to a third of a pack of Castello® Traditional Danish Blue – cut into slices
  • 1 slice cooked ham
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 2 slices of bread as above
  • Lurpak butter for spreading
  • Quarter to a third of a pack of Castello® Traditional Danish Blue – cut into slices
  • 2 slices parma ham
  • 2-3 tsp. tomato chutney or relish of your choice
  • Few fresh sage leaves torn roughly.

preparation

1. Preheat grill to medium.

2. Grill bread slices on one side only, spread the toasted sides with a little butter, and then make up sandwich in normal way, layering up the cheese, ham and other ingredients, place second slice of bread, toasted side down, firmly on top.

3. Return the sandwich to the grill and toast on both sides and till a good golden brown colour and the cheese inside is just beginning to melt, serve hot with more relish or chutney and a few salad leaves. NB If you own a sandwich toasting machine then use this to make up the sandwiches.
