YOUR PICNIC LOCATION - 3 GREAT SPOTS FOR A PICNIC

The great thing about dining outdoors, is that your surroundings will naturally help create the right mood and atmosphere. From beautiful green surroundings to a scenic waterfront location or the vibrant urban jungle; make the most of your local environment and find that perfect spot to lay out your picnic blanket. If you can’t decide where to go – get inspiration for your picnic location here.

1. Go green!

A park or forest is the ideal green spot to host a picnic. This location will give you plenty of space to invite a lot of people, and keep you entertained with fun games after enjoying your picnic dishes. Find that perfect spot underneath a tree for a cosy and intimate setting for two, or a bench if you are not big on sitting on the ground. Use the beautiful green surroundings to create the atmosphere you want for your picnic – a big green lawn or a lookout point with an amazing view for a quiet picnic for two.

If your picnic is at the park with all your friends or family – make sure to pack a football, Frisbee, baseball bat, Petanque set or whatever you know will be a hit among your picnic guests.

2. Waterfront

A beautiful backdrop of water at the beach or lakeside will be a lovely recreational spot for a nice picnic. Remember to bring plenty of sunscreen and perhaps a parasol for a bit of shade when you are enjoying those delicious picnic dishes. For the full experience, lay out your picnic blanket directly on the soft sand or find a spot just off the beach where you still have the beautiful view.

Whether you opt for a beach or lakeside picnic, remember to pack plenty of sunscreen and entertainment; tennis paddles, beach ball, Frisbee and of course swimwear.

3. Urban spaces

If you don’t have a green spot or a beach just around the corner, make use of your vibrant urban surroundings. Pack a small picnic basket and find that perfect setting for a spontaneous picnic the middle of the urban jungle. A rooftop with a view of the city skyline, a museum park, town square, a public park, a bench or a quiet green space in an urban garden or even your own balcony – there are plenty of urban spaces that are the perfect setting for a picnic.

Once you have finished your delicious picnic food, press pause and relax with entertaining games such as cards or backgammon or bring today’s newspaper or a great book for some real leisure time.
