Cos Lettuce Canapes

A fresh little appetizer - our recipe for Cos Lettuce Canapes is a light way to start off a meal (or party). With the cos lettuce serving as a crisp vessel for crunchy cabbage, creamy, peppery cheese and fried bacon. A dish that’s as strong on textures as it is on flavours.

Cos Lettuce Canapes

Ingredients

2 heads cos lettuce
¼ head cabbages, finely sliced
¼ red cabbages, finely sliced
fresh fresh parsley, finely chopped
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 pack bacon, sliced
2 packs Castello® Black pepper cream cheese
2 tbsp sour cream

Preparation

In a bowl combine the Castello® Black Pepper Cream Cheese and sour cream. Mix well.

Add the chopped parsley and salt and pepper to taste.

In a fry pan over medium heat cook the bacon strips until slightly golden.

Wash the cos lettuce and divide into individual leaves.

Now to build up your canapes. Take a lettuce leaf and top with sliced cabbage, a spoonful of the cheese mixture, bacon and a light sprinkling of parsley. Enjoy!
