
Cos Lettuce Canapes

A fresh little appetizer - our recipe for Cos Lettuce Canapes is a light way to start off a meal (or party). With the cos lettuce serving as a crisp vessel for crunchy cabbage, creamy, peppery cheese and fried bacon. A dish that’s as strong on textures as it is on flavours.
Ingredients
- 2 heads cos lettuce
- ¼ head cabbages, finely sliced
- ¼ red cabbages, finely sliced
- fresh fresh parsley, finely chopped
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 pack bacon, sliced
- 2 packs Castello® Black pepper cream cheese
- 2 tbsp sour cream
Preparation
Preparation1. In a bowl combine the Castello® Black Pepper Cream Cheese and sour cream. Mix well.
2. Add the chopped parsley and salt and pepper to taste.
3. In a fry pan over medium heat cook the bacon strips until slightly golden.
4. Wash the cos lettuce and divide into individual leaves.
5. Now to build up your canapes. Take a lettuce leaf and top with sliced cabbage, a spoonful of the cheese mixture, bacon and a light sprinkling of parsley. Enjoy!
