Tips & tricks

What is a slider? The slider is an American invention first made by a large hamburger chain. If you turn to the dictionary, it simply states that a slider is a "small burger on a bun". This means that it is easy to make sliders that fit your personal preferences. We use Creamy Havarti cheese to create delicious cheeseburger sliders, and you can add whatever ingredients you like to make the perfect cheeseburger sliders for you. Why are sliders called sliders? Some say it is because they are so tasty that they ‘slide’ through your system effortlessly. It is also said that because they are usually a bit smaller than the original hamburger, you have to make more of them, which means you need to ‘slide’ the patties to efficiently cook up a whole bunch at the same time. What is the difference between a slider and a hamburger? One big difference is that when cooking sliders you add the toppings while the meat is still sizzling on the grill or pan, enforcing the cheese to wonderfully melt and the toppings to warm up. Another thing is the size. Sliders are usually smaller and sometimes served as part of a bigger serving whereas hamburgers usually serve as a full meal typically with fries or roasted potatoes on the side. What to serve with sliders? Enjoy this sliders recipe with sauté onions as part of a larger serving or as they are with roasted vegetables or potatoes. You can also experiment with your own sliders recipe and add other toppings like jalapeños, peppers, pickles, or any other favorite you might want to include. How do you sauté onions? Sautéed onions are a key ingredient in most slider recipes including this one. When you sauté onions, it is important that the pan isn't too hot. You want to sauté the onions slowly at medium heat to get the perfect soft texture without burning them. Thin slices of onion give the best result.
